During the first half of 2026, Jakarta solidified its position as Indonesia’s leading hub for investment, drawing in a total of Rp 173.6 trillion ($9.7 billion). This significant sum was divided between Rp 106.5 trillion in domestic investments and Rp 67.1 trillion in foreign direct investment (FDI), highlighting the capital city’s appeal to both local and international investors.

In just the second quarter, Jakarta amassed Rp 94.9 trillion ($5.3 billion) in investments, which represented 18.5% of the total investment realized across Indonesia. The city not only led the nation in domestic investment with Rp 58.6 trillion but also emerged as the second-largest destination for foreign direct investment, securing Rp 36.3 trillion.

Officials attribute Jakarta’s impressive investment figures to ongoing enhancements in the ease of doing business, improvements in public services, and a generally supportive climate for investment. These factors continue to bolster investor confidence, attracting a substantial flow of capital into the capital city.

Meanwhile, West Java stood out as the second most favored investment destination in the country during the same timeframe, attracting Rp 138.1 trillion. This performance underscores the competitive landscape of investment destinations within Indonesia, with regions vying for investor attention through strategic improvements and offerings.
